How to Grow Your Small Business Using Social Media and Become Successful
As we all know today,social media plays a huge role in communications and marketing. This short video presents material on technology and how it is evolving and can only be beneficial for people with small businesses today. Most people are unaware of how to use these sites and are just stuck in there old ways of promoting there business without social media. What they must understand is in order to progress and continue the process of there revenue,they must use social media because of the huge impact that it has on society today. Just by posting a simple statement that you find creative and believe that your followers will find creative,will generate to as many people as you want without you having to stand in front of an audience or get banners made. Even though those are great marketing strategies as well. The main goal is to think of social media as your contact list that you can network through in a various amount of ways depending on how you mange your time and how creative you can be.Social media can be a bit overwhelming for some people because it is constantly developing with updates and became challenging for those who are not fully comfortable with using it. For example my grandmother whom is 65 years old recently started using Facebook and has grown to be very fond of it because she can communicate with a lot of her past friends and close family members that she hasn't seen in years, of course before she started using Facebook she was biased about it because of all of things she had heard and she believed that she was too old to use social media,not knowing that she could communicate with loved ones. I believe that today a lot of people think that and must realize that how you solely portray yourself on social media is all up to you along with how you use your social media accounts is all up to you. Your advantage and everything is pretty self explanatory.

The big Question for many Small Business,Why should I have a Website?
Why should your small Business have a Website? As our Internet marketing group we have found several advantages on why you should be on the Web. The number one reason we found is you will reach a different group of people, you don't want to lose a customer to another local business who is out and promoting online, if you aren't on the web it's like your business don't exist to many. An article read that 67% of consumers "are influenced by online reviews". This is a huge benefit for the business because you can ask your consumers to review your business if you receive positive reviews your business is only going to grow as the article read 67% of consumers are influenced by reviews your business can nearly double by being present on the web. As we hear from many small business owners questioning the negative feedback that is received online, for example receiving negative reviews. We found you will be able to control it because you will not only learn and improve from the negative feedback, you will then be able to post and influence to the consumers positively so you can change the perception on the negative feed back and not lose the next consumers interest. One major advantage is your business will show up on google which 81%consumers research before they make there decision of where they will shop or receive there service from.
The second thing we found is it cost nothing to be on the web as there are several free websites who offer to build web pages for business for free. Even if you had to pay to build the web page it will be cheaper than many advertisement's you have paid for in the past. Another great benefit is almost anyone can build a web page, if you do come to a problem you will then be able to find support online.
Another great advantage of having a web page or even social media you are able to show case your new products, new services, offers, and even show case your current products and services. This will help give your consumers an idea possibly consider giving you the business.
Further more, you are not only giving your consumers a resource, you are also giving your employees a resource. You can have part of your page designed just for them where they can look at their work schedule or as simple as keep in contact with not only as well as co-workers. This gives your workers no reason to be misinformed as you will have all that your workers need to know posted on the employee page on the website.

Southwest Runners is a small business located in Farmington, New Mexico. Jerry Hogue, the owner, has been in business for several successful years now. Her store sells name brand running shoes from Mizuno to Brooks. She also has a small variety of clothing wear to runners who are looking for quality athletic wear. I was able to interview Mrs. Hogue and ask about her marketing strategies, and what she has done to advertise her small business.
According to Mrs. Hogue she started off by advertising in the local news paper (The Daily Times). After that she was able to promote her business name on local fundraiser shirts. Which led to buying a banner to support a local high school team in Farmington New Mexico. She later gave discounts to many of the local cross country runners that compete in the high school level. Mrs. Hogue was finally able to host a 10k run which promoted her small business along with doing something Mrs. Hogue loves to do and that is run. The first place runner for this 10k run received a free shoe from her store.
Although it may seem Mrs. Hogue has advertised every where in Farmington, her biggest advertisement for her small business of course is the internet. Where everyone from anywhere can be updated on the latest deals, or shipments that have arrived in her store. Right now she only does marketing on Facebook where she can hit multiple people from across the county at once. Which is a great way to advertise because today many people have a Facebook account. However, to make this method more successful I researched a few helpful tips for advertising over Facebook that I think might work. The link is down below.
I would like to recommend uploading more videos and pictures of the races you hold. Letting people see you in action, and getting involved with your community. This shows viewers how organized along with how active you are with your business. Showing where your club ran at today or yesterday. Capturing all the people that participate in this friendly Southwest Running group daily. Not only just the club but also the meets that you hold. Taking pictures and uploading them onto your Facebook page so people know that your business is more than just a shoe store. Let your customer know you are there for there health needs also by letting them know your run club is free to everyone. So grow your business by connecting with network and social media to you can generate more likes and more people to share your page. I hope this gives some tips to getting your business known through facebook and giving your business a boost to open up for more customers to come to your store.
